MARRAKECH · SINCE 1981

A living heritage.

A family story. A wooden loom.
A thousand patient gestures.

THE FAMILY ATELIER

Knowledge held
in the hands.

Founded in Marrakech in 1981 by Malika Chouhab, Atelier El Bahia carries a family tradition of weaving into the life of the medina.

Today, Haytam continues that story, sharing textiles shaped by the time, skill and individuality of the human hand.

OUR SAVOIR-FAIRE

The rhythm of the loom.

Inside our Marrakech workshop, the textile takes shape one thread at a time.

At the loom · hands, shuttles and the shared rhythm of the workshop.
01 / THE GESTURE

Practised hands.
Living knowledge.

A shuttle passes through the threads. The wooden frame holds the work. Each movement belongs to a craft that is learned through patient practice.

These are the people, tools and looms of Atelier El Bahia.

02 / THE THREAD

Material.
Colour. Texture.

Agave-silk and Egyptian-cotton weaving forms part of the atelier’s textile practice. Seen close, the interlacing threads reveal the structure and character of the cloth.

These photographs show actual textiles from Atelier El Bahia. Composition and suitability are confirmed for each individual piece or commission.
